A posting routine for dealership Marketplace listings

The dealerships that get the most from Marketplace are not the ones that post the most in one go; they are the ones that post steadily and keep their listings accurate. Here is a routine that works for a sales floor.

Every morning

  • New arrivals first. Post cars that came in overnight while they are new.
  • A few cars per salesperson. Spread the day's posting across the team, a few minutes apart, instead of one person posting the whole lot.
  • Take down what sold. Remove listings for cars that left inventory yesterday.

Through the day

  • Answer messages within the hour. Assign a backup for anyone on a test drive or off.
  • Update prices when they change. A price drop is a reason to re-post.

Every week

  • Renew older listings so they rise again.
  • Check who is posting and who has gone quiet.
  • Look at what is working: which cars get messages, which salespeople book appointments, and how many cars sold through Facebook.

Find your own best times

Every market is different. Rather than trusting a generic “best time to post”, keep your posting steady for a few weeks and compare when messages arrive. DealersGO's dashboard shows when the team posts by weekday and hour, next to the leads that came in.

Make the routine automatic

With DealersGO's Daily batch, each salesperson posts 1 to 15 cars on a schedule, a few minutes apart, while sold cars come down and price changes are flagged on their own. See how posting works.

FAQ

How many cars should each salesperson post a day?

Enough to keep new arrivals and price changes current: for most stores a handful per person per day, spread through the morning.

Should we re-post the same car?

Renew a listing that has been up a while, or re-post when the price drops. Posting the same car over and over as new listings can break Facebook's rules.
